Culver, Kansas, less than 7 miles north of I-70, is home to about 120 people in 48 households.

The children of Culver travel 10 miles by bus to attend school in Tescott. A new City Park is located on the south end of town. And, other than the Culver Flea Market that is open on weekends in the old school building on the north end of town, there are no businesses or services in the community.

The City Office is located in a unique historic building that once served as the home of a hand-pulled fire cart.  The tower above the front door that held the fire bell has been recently rebuilt.

Another interesting structure still standing is the city jail.  It is a simple cement square, 8ft X 9ft, with one barred window and a metal door.  In forty years of use, it was occupied only twice, one of those times by an impounded dog.
