Bennington, Kansas, is the second-largest city in Ottawa County and is ideally situated as a “bedroom community” with nice homes, good streets and excellent schools.
The community is served by a bank, soda fountain, fuel station, gun shop, quilt shop, and two eateries, one offering a variety of convenience groceries. Many residents commute 20 minutes south to Salina for employment Bennington Schools serve residents of the southeast part of the County, as well as numerous “transfer students” who live in northern Saline County and prefer to attend Bennington schools. Substantial portions of the school were remodeled or built new in 2005. |

The ball fields at the Bennington Sports Complex and the city swimming pool are the center of activity in the summer. A playground, picnic shelter and disc golf course, located in Antelope Park, are frequented nearly year-round.
